Mr V. Murugasu at the V.I.
Official Visit after 50 years
Mr V. Murugasu served as V.I. Headmaster from 1964 to 1969. An Old Boy himself, he chalked up a reputation as a strict disciplinarian who was not afraid to use the cane. Under him, the school's academic and sporting achievements reached great heights. On July 12, 2019, Mr Murugasu, accompanied by Old Boy See Tho Pak Lim, the Rugby Vice-Captain of 1971, visited the Old School again. Welcomed by the present Headmaster, Encik Kamarul Azman bin Md Arif, Mr Murugasu spent about three hours in the Old School, far longer than the coffee and brief chitchat that had been originally arranged. Signing the Visitors Book. Receiving a token from Encik Kamarul Azman. Looking on are Miss Shanti, a staff member, and Mr See Tho Pak Lim. Mr Murugasu's canes used to hang from the wall behind.
